Robert Murray has over 40 years’ experience working with stone, concrete, and brick. The company that Mr. Murray started at in 1978 specialized in foundation work. There he poured concrete walls, slabs, sidewalks, built curbs and gutters, footings, grade beams, bank vaults, piers, caissons, and decks. In 1981 Mr. Murray went to work for his mentor - who set limestone at the National Cathedral before starting his own limestone setting company. Mr. Murray built flagstone patios, walkways, and steps, and fieldstone/brick walls for him as well as patched and repointed masonry structures. Mr. Murray took his experiences with foundation and stone work and became self-employed in 1985. He continued to support his mentor throughout the years on various large projects. He spends his time working throughout the Washington DC/MD/VA metro area, but has also worked in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, and California. Today most of his current work is in repairs: flagstone patios, walkways, steps, retaining walls, etc.
